There is a lot of talk these days about health and wellness. The more I read the more I get confused of what wellness really is. Is wellness fitness? Is wellness nutrition? Is wellness detoxification?

As a functional wellness practitioner I came up with the answer to the question, what is wellness? Each individual has their belief what wellness is for them. However, if they were to peel back the wellness onion they would find the following.

Wellness is PENSF; physical, emotional, nutritional, spiritual, financial health. When you consider the human body there are four things that we most have to function effectively and optimally. They are: oxygen, water, fuel (food) and exercise. When you consider the body’s needs, PENSF is the necessary need for sustainable wellness. The emotional, spiritual (belief system) and financial components of PENSF play a large role in an individuals overall wellness.

Emotional- Positive thoughts of why
Nutritional-Water, food, oxygen
Spiritual- Belief system
Financial- Sufficiency

When considering wellness, consider PENSF as the model to follow. PENSF is you, PENSF is wellness.

The 10 Chain Restaurants to Avoid
So who are the worst offenders on the list? Here are the top 10 chain restaurants to avoid when you’re going out to eat.
1. Applebees. This chain restaurant specializes in overfeeding people, as quite a bit of their appetizers come in at nearly 1,000 calories. Their sweet potato fries, a food that should be relatively healthy, tops in at 1,160 calories before a main is ordered. Stay away!
2. The Cheesecake Factory. The Cheesecake Factory’s massive menu is overwhelming. The amount of cheesecakes alone is in the dozens. This chain restaurant makes an effort to appeal to health-conscious eaters with its Skinnylicious menu, where all the dishes are under 590 calories.
As long-time followers know, however, calories are only part of the story. Even this lightened-up menu is still full of refined carbs, pork and shrimp, some of the worst foods for you. And would you really go to a place named after cheesecake and not try a piece?
3. Chili’s. Another sneaky menu! A smoked chicken burrito with a quinoa blend sounds like it might be an okay option — but it’s 866 calories. A chipotle chicken bowl, another seemingly good-for-you option, comes in at 870 calories. And if you opt for the classic turkey sandwich, you’ll be enjoying 930 calories before the fries arrive.
4. Cracker Barrel. With the offerings on the menu, “homestyle” at Cracker Barrel is closer to “heart attack.” Unfortunately, it’s impossible to double-check, as Cracker Barrel’s website doesn’t offer nutrition or allergen information. A chain restaurant that’s unwilling to spill the beans on what it’s serving? Pass.
5. Denny’s. The late-night favorite is packed with processed ingredients, as evidenced by appetizers like “Red Velvet Pancake Puppies” served with cream cheese icing and bacon cheddar tots. The Slam Burger, one of the chain restaurant’s signature burgers, is topped with hash browns, eggs and bacon — to the tune of 1,010 calories. Do you really want fries with that?
6. iHop. This chain restaurant uses cute pancake faces made of whipped cream to get kids excited by its offerings. Parents won’t be as happy. With sodium levels that reach 50 percent of an adult’s daily recommended value, packed with sugar and very little fiber, you’ll want to keep the kiddos out of here.
7. TGI Friday’s. When a chicken salad comes in at over 1,000 calories, you have to wonder if there’s a better option. The burgers are a calorie bomb; even the turkey option comes in at 960 calories. Alcoholic cocktails are also a selling point in the menu, taking the first spot in the menu, but sadly, there’s no nutrition information if you want a beverage. Plus, the only seafood on here is shrimp. No thanks.
8. Olive Garden. Bowls of white pasta, unlimited breadsticks and no way of getting calorie counts before visiting? Stick to making your own Italian feast instead.
9. P.F. Chang’s. Kudos to P.F. Chang’s for having a gluten-free menu. Two thumbs down for the insane amount of calories, fat and sodium even in these “better for you” dishes. I’m not quite sure how a gluten-free vegetarian coconut curry dish managed to reach 1,270 calories, 90 grams of fat and more sodium than you’d need in a day, but you can find it at this chain restaurant.
10. Waffle House. The main offering here is waffles. Gluten-filled, syrupy waffles topped with processed meats like bacon, sausages and more. Simply avoid.

Dangers of Synthetic Scents Include Cancer, Asthma, Kidney Damage and More

The dangers of synthetic scents aren’t always evident, but we have the science to prove that everyone, regardless of age or health, needs to make avoiding fake fragrances a major priority.
A National Academy of Sciences points out some vital facts: About 95 percent of chemicals used in synthetic fragrances are derived from petroleum (crude oil). They include benzene derivatives (carcinogenic), aldehydes, toluene and many other known toxic chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. (1) Unfortunately, 30 years later, toxic ingredients continue turn up in products we use and breathe in on a daily basis. Some of the worst toxic ingredients used in lotions, shampoos, laundry detergents, cleaning products and so much more include synthetic scents, often listed as on labels as the elusive “fragrance.” And many on the list are known or suspected endocrine disruptors, compounds that tinker with hormonal health that can trigger weight gain and even set you up for diseases decades down the line.
Avoiding the dangers of synthetic scents is crucial. It’s something I need you to share with your family and friends. When a company puts “fragrance” on the label, don’t be tricked. This is a catch-all term actually can stand for thousands of different ingredients (literally, at least 3,000). And when you use a product containing “fragrance” or “parfum,” all of those mysterious ingredients are absorbed right into your bloodstream. These ingredients are predominantly made from chemicals and are just outright toxic for your health in so many ways.
While our allure with natural fragrances is baked into our DNA as a way to find food and mates, synthetic fragrances are completely unnecessary and are making us super sick in our modern-day world. Sure, drawing fragrances from nature has a long history in religious ceremonies, burials and a way to increase libido. But in this article, we’re focusing on the man-made fragrances that started emerging in the late 1800s. The dangers of these synthetic scents not only include short-term symptoms like allergies and respiratory distress, but also headaches, dizziness, nausea and brain fog. We’ll get into other, less obvious side (but super serious) side effects in a bit. (2) This serves as evidence that regardless of your age or health status, it is imperative that you avoid fragrance chemicals.

What Are Synthetic Scents?
Synthetic scents or “fragrance” represent an unidentified mixture of ingredients including carcinogens, allergens, respiratory irritants, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic chemicals and environmental toxicants. These artificial scents can can be found in all kinds of body care and cosmetic products, as well as air fresheners, cleaning materials and laundry detergents. According to the Campaign for Safer Cosmetics, hair products are especially problematic. More than 95 percent of shampoos, conditioners and styling products contain fragrance as an ingredient. (3) I’m sure you’ll agree that we all want our hair to smell good, but we could do without the use of toxic ingredients.
Research conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found an average of 14 chemicals in 17 name brand fragrance products. But it doesn’t stop there — none of these chemicals were actually listed on the label. (4)
In general, there at least 3,000 ingredients that could possibly be used to form a product’s scent. That’s according to the online “Transparency List” put out by the International Fragrance Association, an industry trade group. (5) I encourage to take a look at the following list, derived from the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, to see just how many fragrance chemicals we’re possibly exposed to every day.

The Real Truth About Cancer

I’ll keep this post brief and to the point. After attending ‘The Truth About Cancer’ in Grapevine, TX the symposium solidified my belief in western medicine (sick care) and our corrupted government.

Cancer is NOT a disease it’s a symptom. Each person, ‘human being’, have cancer cells whether dormant or active. These cancer cells where created by the toxins in and around us. Yes, the food we eat, the words we speak, the thoughts we think, the company we keep and the toxins we choose to use in and around us.

When pharmaceutical companies and our government put profit before life, that causes a huge problem in America. Our government supports the pharmaceutical machine that lies and kills Americans. The number one cause of death in America is medical error i.e., pharmaceutical drugs and doctor error. Why? Because there is no accountability for pharmaceutical companies to change their prescribed process by our government. It’s profit over people, period!

What can we do?

We can eat nutritionally – organic whole foods plant based.
We can exercise; cardiovascular, weight training, yoga.
We can change the way we think – think positively healthy.
We can remove toxic people, foods and product from our lives.
We can be proactive in our self-care.
We can learn to set good boundaries with food, people, work to reduce stress.
We can choose not to support the pharmaceutical companies.
We can vote with our dollars.
We can tell the government to support the people not big business.
We can live in and with integrity.
and…
We can question the doctors and their prescribed medicine.

Change is neither good or bad it’s how you react to change that makes the difference.

How & Why do people die cancer?


It’s the saddest day when you get blindsided by the fact that we really have no control over when we die.

I see people coming in the office struggling with just basic cellular survival tasks like drinking filtered water instead of soda, when others are fighting for survival from cancer doing almost everything correct physically, emotionally, energetically, nutritionally, spiritually, sexually and financially…oh come on…who are you kidding, D, you know it’s not plausible to get it all balanced / reconciliation fast enough and synchronized before cellular exhaustion sets in (death)…or is it?

Most know that I tend to be pretty all or nothing, some call me “extreme, radical”, some are scared I will judge them because I care about everything that goes in, on and around my body and they don’t want to care that much or spend the energy at attempts to control their cancer / disease risk.

Now I really can feel why people use the excuse, “such and such person smoked, drank alcohol, toxic gmo’d daily, imbibed pure sugar, ate tons of hormone treated dairy products,  worked in a chemical plant without a mask, blah blah blah…and they are still alive or lived to 95…ugh!!!

Cancer sucks, chemicals in our world suck more, wanting to believe giving a checklist to prevent cancer and immunological devastation will help, if applied in human life, I suppose is my way to share hope, call it control, relax, nothing is under control. It’s all an illusion. I’ll clinch my checklist and continue to learn, practice and teach. I have to stay in the solution because what I focus on will grow. It’s my way of fighting on.

I don’t have the answers to why some die and others don’t. All I have is a broken heart and asking God to bring sense to senseless situations.

God, please make house calls to the homes of the dying tonight. Please bring peaceful transition to the other space of rest.

Please heal our hearts and help us to keep believing in the efforts toward thriving on this broken planet.

If I am an abnormal cell on a normally broken planet, help me laugh through the vibration of the pain.

I will never give up fighting for human life, till I take my last breath, you will see me staying in my locus of control:

clean food, water, supplements, enlightened thinking (reprogramming the subconscious mind), breath, daily detox and optimal nutrition & lifestyle habits.

Death of a client / patient

To be completely blunt and honest, it truly sucks!
You know in your mind they have almost no chance at stage 4 pancreatic cancer with a tumor blocking their entire bile duct, however, when there is breath there is hope. We lost Joe yesterday and we both cried. He was diagnosed in April, came to us July 1 and passed to the other dimension July 20. 20 days of praying, hoping and working on this man to see if it was possible. Anything is possible, however sometimes it’s just not up to us and not ours to hold on to.
We know we did our best, just not enough time. Not enough of a lot of things, but tons and tons of love and hope motivating us to prevent devastating disease in others.

In 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for work proving cancer is caused by a lack of oxygen

Fatigued and Frustrated

Lately many clients have commented that they are feeling fatigued. When I ask them to expand on their overall all feeling they state that they are tired or have a lack of energy. Other terms used to describe fatigue are exhaustion or being lethargic. For clarity, fatigue and sleepiness are not the same thing; sleepiness is a symptom of fatigue.

Many physicians consider fatigue as a medical condition. As a functional health clinician I believe fatigue is based on nutrient deficiency. All to often, due to the stresses in life and the ‘need it now’ mentality, we tend to jeopardize our health in lieu of our jobs. What good are you to your family, to yourself or to your employer if you are not functioning at your best?

The trail of clouds that billow from an airplane streaking across the sky can be mesmerizing for children and adults alike. Jet engine traffic has become so common that it’s not unusual to see several lingering streaks in the afternoon. And though many consider the streaks beautiful against a bright blue sky, others are alarmed about them. Concerns range from the idea that these streaks could exacerbate to more global warming the theories that the government has secretly been dumping harmful substances on the land.

Before we get into the various theories about the possible harmful effects, let’s discuss the scientific explanation for these streaks. Jet engines spew out very hot air. And, because water vapor is one of the byproducts of the exhaust, the air is also very humid. However, high in the atmosphere where these jets fly, the air is typically very cold — often lower than -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, the atmosphere up there is often of low vapor pressure, or the force exerted by a gas on the surrounding environment.

In what may be the first governmental acknowledgment of its kind, a public official from Cleveland, Ohio has referenced “chem-trails” in a bill put before congress.  Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D) has submitted bill no. HR 2977 IH , which proposes a ban on the weaponization of space.  One of the weapons systems listed in the bill is “chem-trails”. The use of this term is significant because until now, all reported governmental inquiries into this issue have been dismissed or denied.  Agencies such as the Air Force have routinely called reports of chem-trails “a hoax”. Using Mother Natures Nutrition and Essential Oils to Kick Cancer

I do not support nor do I accept western medicines approach or procedures to cure or kick cancer. Western medicine often causes more harm than good. Deeply breathe in the aroma, gently at first. If you like it and it seems appropriate, breathe more deeply. When you breathe in an essential oil through the nose, the tiny oil molecules (the vapor) contain all of the same properties that the oil contains. They interact with the olfactory organ and the brain. Oil molecules inhaled through nose or mouth also move into the lungs and interact with the lungs and respiratory system.

#2. Hand Inhalation Method – Drip a few drops of essential oil onto your palms, rub them together to activate the oil, and cup them over the mouth and nose. As with the Bottle Inhalation Method, breathe gently at first and then if it seems appropriate, breathe the oil in deeply − as if you were dragging the oil up over your brain. Be sure to leave your eyes out of this as essential oils do not belong anywhere near the eyes. (Warning: If you do happen to accidentally get an essential oil into your eyes, dilute immediately with a carrier oil like sweet almond or olive, never water. It will burn like crazy but will ease in a few minutes.)

#3. Terracotta Pendant Method – Put a drop of oil on a terracotta pendant, fasten it around your neck, and enjoy the benefits of that oil as you move through your day.

#4. Bedtime Salt Bowl Method – Place a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of sea salt flakes or Epsom salt in a small bowl. Drip 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oil onto the salt. Keep it by your bed. The salt helps to slow down the evaporation rate of the oils, allowing you a longer diffusion throughout the night. A great way to get some anti-cancer potential into you while you sleep.

#5. Steam Bowl Inhalation – Drip your chosen essential oil into a bowl of steaming water (please use filtered so that no chlorine is also inhaled). Place a towel over your head and over the bowl of water and breathe in deeply (be careful if the water was boiled, the steam can be hot enough to burn). Please keep your eyes closed when using this method or use swimming goggles to protect your eyes. The steam quickly vaporizes the oil and it is rapidly absorbed into the throat, sinuses, and then bloodstream. This method is a very direct and potent method. Do not use any more than 1-2 drops of essential oil, or you may find it overwhelming. Please note that heating oils can diminish the therapeutic value of the oil so do not use this method exclusively if you are fighting cancer.

#6. Ultrasonic Diffusing – An ultrasonic diffuser uses air, water, and ultrasonic vibrations to diffuse the oil into the air. A fine mist is created and released into the air, so it doubles as a humidifier. The concentration of essential oils is gentler since water is used. This method allows the oil molecules to remain air-bound for several hours and does not affect the structure or therapeutic value of the oil. You can use several oils together, for instance frankincense and sandalwood. Two or more oils are better than one, because the phytochemicals in each oil offer different healing properties.

#7. Car Diffuser – Many companies now make car diffusers for their essential oils. Imagine getting a great smelling anti-cancer treatment right in the safety of your car as you drive to work or while running errands! Don’t have a diffuser? Don’t worry − just get a cotton ball, drip a few drops of your chosen oil onto it, stick it in the air vent, turn on the vent and enjoy.

#8. Essential Oil Massage – There are a couple of ways to go about this. You can massage the essential oils into your body, neat, meaning without dilution. Be sure to have some guidance from your practitioner about which ones may require dilution. You can also dilute essential oils by adding a natural carrier oil (organic wherever possible) such as sweet almond or coconut oil, or even olive oil. Apply the diluted essential oils to skin areas with gentle massage strokes. As a guideline, you can make a 1% concentration, which equals one drop of essential oil to one teaspoon of carrier oil. A 2% dilution would be two drops of essential oil to one teaspoon of carrier oil. Be sure to consult a practitioner when using essential oils for children, as they require much weaker dilutions than do adults.

#9. The Foot Absorption Method – Massage a few drops of your chosen essential oils into the bottoms (the soles) of your feet before you go to bed. The soles of the feet contain some of the largest pores in the body. Therefore, the oils are easily absorbed and working in your bloodstream within just a few minutes.

#10. Oral Ingestion – Unless you are working under the guidance of a certified health practitioner, it is not suggested that you take an essential oil internally. It is not that taking oils internally is necessarily a bad or dangerous thing, but you do need some guidance as to which oils are safe to take internally, how much to use, and how frequently.

#11. Essential Oil Bath –  Drip your chosen essential oils into a warm (not hot) bath. Use a few tablespoons of a dispersant like full cream milk or coconut oil which will assist in the absorption of the oils through your skin. Then just step into the bath and soak. Not only are you absorbing the oils, but also directly inhaling them at the same time. This is also a great way to finish off those bottles of essential oils that just have a drop or two left in them − just drop the entire bottle into your bath.

#12. Instead of Perfume – Rather than using man-made (and potentially toxic) perfumes, combine your favorite essential oils and wear them on your pulse points, behind your ears, on your collarbone, and on both sides of your neck. Not only will you smell fabulous, you are bringing the phytochemicals in those oils right into your body.
